The Board of Directors of the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) commenced its 30th regular meeting today, March 18, 2025, in Mbeya. The meeting is being led by Chairman Major General (Retired) Hamis R. Semfuko.
On the first day of the meeting, members of the Policy, Planning, and Finance Committee, chaired by Dr. Simon Mduma, and the Wildlife Resources Protection, Operations, and Management Committee, led by Prof. Jafari Kideghesho, met to discuss key issues concerning the institution's development and sustainability.
The four-day meeting will include a visit to the Mpanga/Kipengere Reserve, where the Board will inspect various development projects, including tourism infrastructure and other ongoing initiatives being implemented by TAWA within the reserve.
