The Arusha Regional Police has issued a statement to clarify the ongoing information circulating on social media, including an image showing a citizen named Mercy Daniel, a resident of Arusha, who reported the disappearance of her husband, David Gipson, also from Arusha.
The police have made it clear that the individual in question is not connected to their investigation.
In a statement issued today, March 18, 2025, Arusha Regional Police Commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Justine Masejo, confirmed that the police had received the report and were currently investigating the matter.
“We are actively following up on the case, and preliminary investigations have indicated that David Gipson may be linked to a financial theft that took place at a bank here in Arusha,” SACP Masejo stated, although he declined to disclose the name of the bank.
He further emphasized, “The police continue to track the case to determine the whereabouts of the individual, and a comprehensive update will be provided once we have more information.”
SACP Masejo also called on the public to assist the police in locating the individual. “We urge anyone who has seen or knows the whereabouts of David Gipson to come forward with any relevant information,” he said.
“Additionally, we encourage the community to continue reporting any criminal activity and suspects to ensure that our region remains safe and secure.”
