Dar es Salaam– The Medical Stores Department (MSD) has on March 28, 2025 been recognized for its exceptional pharmaceutical service delivery, receiving the prestigious Service Excellence in Pharmaceutical Sector award at the 2024 Tanzania Service Excellence Awards ceremony held at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
The award, presented by the Chartered Institute of Customer Service (CICM), underscores MSD’s commitment to providing high-quality pharmaceutical services across Tanzania.
"This award demonstrates the public's appreciation for the quality services provided by MSD," said Gendi Machumani, MSD's Acting Customer Service Manager, while receiving the honor.
Machumani credited the institution's transformation under Director General Mavere Tukai’s leadership, emphasizing that significant reforms have enhanced MSD’s efficiency in managing the nationwide health product supply chain.
"We have implemented major institutional reforms that have improved our efficiency in managing the health products supply chain nationwide," Machumani stated. "This recognition motivates us to maintain our accountability in safeguarding Tanzanians' health by consistently delivering quality, affordable medicines on time."

MSD’s recognition highlights its crucial role in strengthening Tanzania’s healthcare system through the reliable distribution of medicines and medical supplies.
