"Today, I am pleased to hand over 50 computers and 50 printers to the secondary schools in Dodoma City," said Anthony Mavunde, the Member of Parliament for Dodoma Urban.
"These donations, along with the modern computer lab at Viwandani Secondary School, are part of our efforts to make Dodoma a leader in utilizing technology for education."
Mavunde went on to commend the government under the leadership of President Dr. Samia S. Hassan for its substantial improvements in the education sector.
"We congratulate the government for its investment in education infrastructure in Dodoma. This year, Tsh 16 billion has been allocated to enhance education in our city," he added.
"I believe these computers and printers will play a significant role in improving academic performance and equipping our students with the skills they need for the future."
The computers, according to Mavunde, are equipped with a wealth of resources. "These computers contain national exams from 1988 to 2024 for Form II, IV, VI, and QT.
They also include additional textbooks, study materials, science simulations, video tutorials, and notes for all subjects," he explained.
Hon. Alhaj Jabir Shekimweri, the District Commissioner of Dodoma, praised Mavunde for his work in advancing education in the city.
"The efforts of Hon. Mavunde in the education sector are commendable," said Shekimweri. "We must also ensure that all schools in Dodoma are connected to the Internet, and I urge the city council to allocate funds for this purpose."
Hon. Jaffar Mwanyemba, the Councillor for Viwandani Ward, expressed gratitude for the renovation and equipping of the laboratory.
"On behalf of the students, I want to thank Hon. Mavunde for this support. I encourage our students to take full advantage of these resources and expand their knowledge," said Mwanyemba.
The event marks a significant step forward in improving education in Dodoma through the integration of modern technology.
