The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has lifted the suspension on Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, allowing it to host international competitions once again.

The stadium had been temporarily banned due to the deteriorating quality of its playing surface. However, following an inspection by CAF officials, it has now been cleared for use in the quarterfinals and semifinals of the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) and the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) for the 2024/2025 season.

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Communications and Media Officer, Cliford Mario Ndimbo, confirmed the development, stating that CAF will continue to closely monitor the ongoing upgrades at the facility.

With the approval, Simba SC will now be able to host their CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal second-leg match against Al Masry at their home ground on April 9.By Flora Mkoloma
