Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Tanzania's ruling party, has promised to continue strengthening both local and international cooperation under the leadership of its Chairperson and President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
CCM stated that it will work closely with the government to build good relationships with countries and organizations, both in Tanzania and abroad, with the goal of improving the lives of Tanzanians.
This was shared by CCM’s Secretary-General, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, during separate meetings with the ambassadors of South Korea, Norway, and the United Kingdom at the CCM Sub-Headquarters in Lumumba, Dar es Salaam, on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
In his talks with the South Korean Ambassador to Tanzania, Ahn Eunju, Ambassador Nchimbi highlighted the importance of strengthening the historic relationship between Tanzania and South Korea, particularly in areas like economic development and technology.
Tanzania is currently benefiting from a $2.5 billion loan from South Korea to support education, health, and infrastructure projects. One major project funded is the construction of the Bagamoyo Fishing Port, worth $156.5 million.
The two countries are also increasing cooperation in the mining sector, especially in mining strategic minerals like nickel and lithium.
In his meeting with the Norwegian Ambassador to Tanzania, Tones Tinnes, Ambassador Nchimbi emphasized that Norway has been a long-time development partner for Tanzania.
The two countries have worked together for many years on various projects.
Norway is currently helping Tanzania address climate change through projects in agriculture, energy, water, and health.
During his conversation with the British Ambassador to Tanzania, Marianne Louise Young, Ambassador Nchimbi pointed out that the strong relationship between Tanzania and the United Kingdom, along with the close cooperation with the Labour Party-led government, aims to bring mutual benefits in economic and social development.
At different times during their discussions with Ambassador Nchimbi, the ambassadors praised the decisions made at CCM’s Special National Congress.
This meeting selected Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan as the presidential candidate for the United Republic of Tanzania, Ambassador Nchimbi as the running mate, and Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi as the presidential candidate for Zanzibar.
In closing, Ambassador Nchimbi assured that CCM will continue to support international cooperation, focusing on peace, stability, and good leadership, to ensure Tanzania benefits from strong relationships with countries around the world.
