TDS Girls emerged victorious with a 2-0 win over Boni Consilli in a thrilling match of the CAF U17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) held today at the Azam Complex Stadium.
The game saw TDS break the deadlock in the 58th minute, with Winfrida Mathias scoring the first goal. In the 88th minute, Mary Siyame doubled their lead, securing the win with a second well-executed goal.
The first half ended in a goalless stalemate, with neither team able to find the back of the net. However, TDS dominated the second half, claiming both goals and finishing the match with a 2-0 victory after the full 90 minutes.
The TDS Girls Academy (Tanzania) lineup included: Nusra Jafari, Wande Debella, Eva Bulirongo, Neema John, Anna Koku, Helen Mtundagi, Mary Siyame, Asha Omary, Milembe John, Felister Richard, and Winfrida Mathias.
The Boni Consilli Girls Vocational (Uganda) lineup featured: Jemimah Tendo, Evas Tushemerirwe, Teddy Nyafwono, Peace Ayiorwoth, Justine Ayerango, Ester Ainembabazi, Zidah Asiimwe, Shamirah Namukabirye, Uwayo Imurinde, Mackline Niwandinda, and Hadijjah Balinabyo.
