The Conservation Commissioner of the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), Musa Nassoro Kuji, visited Serengeti National Park on January 23, 2025, as part of his official duties to inspect ongoing conservation and tourism activities within the park.

Upon his arrival, Commissioner Kuji was warmly received by Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner Izumbe Msindai, Commander of the Western Zone, and Assistant Conservation Commissioner Stephano Msumi, who is also the Head of Serengeti National Park.

During the visit, Commissioner Kuji held a meeting with the park's conservation officers and rangers to discuss key issues, including operational challenges and strategies to enhance both conservation and tourism efforts.

Speaking to the officers and rangers, Commissioner Kuji lauded the Serengeti team for their remarkable contributions to conservation and tourism.

“I want to take this opportunity to commend the Serengeti team for your exceptional efforts in bolstering conservation and tourism.

Your dedication has resulted in Serengeti contributing 54% of the total revenue collected by TANAPA between July and December 2024.

This is an outstanding achievement—congratulations to all of you,” said Commissioner Kuji.

The park’s staff expressed their appreciation for the Commissioner’s visit, reaffirming their commitment to improving conservation efforts, eradicating poaching, and delivering exceptional services to tourists.

They emphasized their goal of creating memorable experiences that would encourage visitors to return.

Commissioner Kuji’s visit to Serengeti is part of a routine tour to evaluate performance and development across TANAPA’s Western Zone facilities.

On January 24, 2025, he is expected to visit the Western Zone Headquarters in Bunda District, Mara Region.
