President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, is expected to officiate as the chief guest at the national Law Day celebrations slated for February 3, 2025, at Chinangali Grounds in Dodoma.
Speaking to the press, Chief Justice Prof. Ibrahim Hamis Juma emphasized the significance of Law Week and Law Day as platforms for fostering collaboration between the judiciary and its key stakeholders, including citizens.
"Law Week and Law Day provide a unique platform for the judiciary to engage with its key stakeholders, especially the public, to educate them about the services provided by the judiciary within the justice delivery chain," said Prof. Juma.
The Chief Justice also announced that the Law Week inauguration will be officiated by Tanzania’s fourth-phase retired President, Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, on January 25, 2025, at Mwalimu Nyerere Grounds (Nyerere Square) in Dodoma.
"The inauguration will be held on January 25 and will be preceded by a special 10-kilometer fun run, accompanied by a 5-kilometer walk for those who prefer walking. These activities will also be led by retired President Dr. Jakaya Kikwete," he stated.
Prof. Juma further noted that the Law Week and Law Day commemorations will be observed nationwide, including in all High Court zones, divisions, regions, and districts.
