Former Taifa Stars goalkeeper Nemes Steven has advised the national team to begin preparations early to ensure success in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, scheduled for August this year in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, Nemes emphasized the importance of continuity, urging coaches to maintain consistency by sticking with players they are familiar with.
He also stressed the need to select players with experience and strong performances.
"We’ve seen examples like the Mapinduzi Cup, where lack of experience let us down. Finally, we need more preparatory matches to test our strength," Nemes said.
Tanzania has been placed in Group B alongside Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic.
