The Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Jerry William Silaa (MP), has announced that the Digital Residential Addressing System (NaPA) has been successfully integrated with 13 government service platforms.
Among the integrated systems are TAUSI from the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), the Block Management System by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Nikonekt by TANESCO, Posta Kiganjani by the Tanzania Posts Corporation, Tfiber by TTCL, the Tanzanite Portal by TCRA, PMS by NEMC, and LOIS by EWURA.
Minister Silaa shared this update on January 20, 2025, in Dodoma while presenting a progress report on the implementation of parliamentary resolutions and the ministry’s semi-annual budget for the 2024/2025 fiscal year to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Infrastructure.
The minister also revealed that efforts to verify and collect residential address data are ongoing, particularly for tourist facilities in three Ngorongoro conservation areas and 21 national parks managed by TANAPA.
Furthermore, Minister Silaa highlighted the ministry’s achievement in developing five national systems designed to enhance access to government services.
These include the Sectoral Information Exchange Systems (Jamii X-Change and ZanXchange), the Digital Identification System (Jamii Namba), the e-KYC System for customer identification, the Digital Payment System (Jamii Pay), and the Registration and Facilitation System for stakeholders in ICT research and innovation, including startups (Safari Hunt).
On the construction of 758 communication towers, the minister reported that 372 towers have been completed, with 332 fully operational and delivering services across various parts of the country. Additionally, all 304 towers slated for upgrades have been successfully completed.
