The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, and Government Spokesperson, Gerson Msigwa, will officiate the opening of the Girls’ Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) U17.
The inaugural match will see JKT Queens face off against Kenya’s KAS today at Azam Complex Stadium in Chamazi.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Communications Officer Clifford Mario Ndimbo has confirmed that preparations are 95% complete.
He noted that eight teams from the CECAFA region will participate in the competition.
“This is the first tournament of its kind, and Tanzania has been privileged to host it as a pilot event ahead of future editions,” Ndimbo stated.
In addition to the matches, the tournament will feature various activities, including health seminars, media workshops, and entertainment festivals.
