Kilimanjaro Stars struggle in Mapinduzi Cup with another loss

Kilimanjaro Stars suffered their second consecutive defeat in the ongoing Mapinduzi Cup, falling 2-0 to Kenya in a match played today at Gombani Stadium on Pemba Island, Zanzibar.

Kenya opened the scoring in the 56th minute with a well-taken goal by Boniface Muchiri.

 Ryan Ogam sealed the victory in the 68th minute, doubling Kenya’s lead with a clinical finish.

Despite several attempts, Tanzania Mainland failed to find the back of the net, with the final whistle confirming Kenya’s 2-0 triumph.

Kenya now leads the group with four points, tied with Burkina Faso but ahead on goal difference.



 Zanzibar Heroes are in third place with three points, while Tanzania Mainland remains at the bottom, yet to secure a point after two games.

The defeat leaves Kilimanjaro Stars in a challenging position as they fight to stay in the competition.
