The District Commissioner of Iringa, Kheri James, has praised USAID Tanzania, through its Feed the Future Tanzania Private Sector Strengthening Project, along with its partner AgriEdu Hub, for their significant contributions to empowering youth and women's groups in the district.

During a brief ceremony where production equipment was handed over to local youth, Kheri James emphasized that the Feed the Future project, funded by USAID Tanzania, has provided over 700 young people with a range of support, including training, capital, equipment, market access, and connections to financial institutions.

These initiatives have also enabled the distribution of tools that enhance productivity and efficiency in their businesses.

Additionally, Komred Kheri James congratulated 75 of the 100 youth recipients of the equipment, encouraging them to take good care of the tools and use them effectively to increase productivity and success in their ventures.

The District Commissioner also extended his appreciation to all organizations involved in building youth capacity in Iringa.

He assured the youth and development partners that the government will continue to take responsibility and provide support to stakeholders in order to further empower and uplift the youth of Tanzania.

The ceremony was attended by the Iringa District Administrative Secretary, representatives from various organizations, and agricultural officers from the Iringa Region’s local government authorities.
