Fountain Gate FC has officially announced the appointment of Robert Matano as their new Head Coach, as the team prepares for the upcoming Tanzania Mainland Premier League season.
Matano has signed a contract that will see him serve for six months, concluding at the end of the 2024/2025 league season.
Prior to joining Fountain Gate, Matano was the head coach of Tusker FC in Kenya.
According to Issa Liponda, the club's spokesperson, Matano has replaced Mohammed Muya, whose contract was terminated following a defeat to Yanga.
“Matano has arrived in the country, and this evening we officially introduced him as the new head coach, alongside Abdulnassir Mzee, the new goalkeeper coach from Zanzibar,” said Liponda.
Liponda also highlighted that Matano has an extensive coaching background in Kenya, having previously managed AFC Leopards and Tusker FC, where he led the teams to four league titles.
