Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, the CCM Presidential Nominee for Zanzibar and Vice Chairperson of CCM in Zanzibar, received a warm reception from hundreds of CCM members, leaders, and citizens upon his return to Zanzibar from Dodoma.

The welcome followed his nomination during the CCM Extraordinary National Congress to represent the party in the upcoming general elections.

A large gathering of CCM members, government officials, security personnel, and religious leaders were present to greet Dr. Mwinyi.

Residents and supporters lined the main road from the airport to Kilimani, cheering as he waved from an open vehicle on his way to the CCM headquarters in Kisiwandui.

During his visit, Dr. Mwinyi paid homage to the late Abeid Amani Karume, Zanzibar's first President, by laying a wreath at his grave.

He also met with CCM elders, thanking them for their support and receiving their well-wishes for his presidential campaign.

Addressing supporters at Mapinduzi Square in Michenzani, Dr. Mwinyi highlighted CCM’s commitment to ensuring the right candidates are chosen for the country’s leadership.

He emphasized the importance of unity and urged party members and citizens to secure a decisive victory for CCM in the October elections.

Dr. Mwinyi expressed gratitude to the CCM leadership for recognizing his efforts in implementing the party’s manifesto, alongside Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

He also acknowledged the trust placed in them as the party’s nominees.

Encouraging active civic participation, Dr. Mwinyi urged CCM members and all eligible citizens to register in the voter rolls, scheduled to open in February, and to cast their votes in October.

He stressed the need to maintain peace and stability as the country prepares for the elections.

“Our collective efforts and unity are essential for a peaceful and successful election process,” Dr. Mwinyi said, calling on Tanzanians to uphold the nation’s cherished harmony.
