The District Commissioner (DC) of Magu, Joshua Nassari, has issued a four-day deadline for ward executives and ward education coordinators to ensure all students selected to join Form One report to their assigned schools.

Nassari issued the directive today, Thursday, during a District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting, where members reviewed and discussed the council’s draft plan and budget for the 2025/2026 fiscal year.

The DC expressed dissatisfaction with the low number of students who have reported to their designated schools, noting the situation as unacceptable given the government's investment in education.

“This is the 21st century, and I am reiterating that everyone must fulfill their responsibilities. I expect every ward executive to provide me with a list of students who have not reported and for the ward education coordinator to explain the reasons behind it.

“By January 27, we must account for every student—whether they have reported to school or not—and if not, the reason must be clear,” Nassari emphasized.

He further highlighted the government's efforts to improve education, including building classrooms, enhancing teaching infrastructure, and recruiting teachers. Despite these advancements, he criticized some parents for failing to ensure their children report to school.

Nassari urged all stakeholders to act swiftly to address the issue and ensure no student is left behind.
