The District Commissioner of Iringa, Comrade Kheri James, has underscored the critical role of accountability among village and street leaders in driving development and improving community welfare.

Speaking at a capacity-building workshop held earlier today at the District Commissioner’s Hall in Iringa, Comrade Kheri James urged the leaders to uphold integrity, innovation, and responsibility in their roles.

He emphasized that such qualities are essential for achieving meaningful and sustainable progress in their areas.

He further challenged the leaders to prioritize key responsibilities, including maintaining security, effectively managing development projects, addressing citizens’ concerns, ensuring cleanliness and environmental conservation, and maximizing local revenue collection.

"Your leadership must be rooted in principles of justice, equality, the rule of law, development, unity, and cohesion," Comrade Kheri James stated, as he concluded his address.

The workshop was attended by council directors from across Iringa District, divisional officers, members of the district security committee, and all village and street chairpersons within the district.
