Despite securing a crucial three points at home, KMC head coach Kali Ongala has expressed dissatisfaction with his team's performance in their NBC Tanzania Premier League match against Pamba Jiji.

KMC narrowly edged Pamba Jiji with a 1-0 victory in the match held yesterday at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam. While the win was significant, Ongala emphasized that the overall display left much to be desired.

Speaking after the game, Ongala acknowledged the immense pressure on his team as everyone was eager to secure a favorable result. However, he noted that while the victory was essential, there were noticeable weaknesses that need immediate attention as they prepare for upcoming matches.

“Although we achieved the desired result, it was a tough match. The league still has many challenging games ahead, so there are areas we must work on to improve,” Ongala remarked.

The coach highlighted that while the coordination between the goalkeeper and the defenders was solid, there were significant challenges in the attacking department that hindered their overall effectiveness.

“Our forwards need to step up. There’s a lot of potential, but we need to sharpen our execution in the final third,” he added.

On the opposing side, Pamba Jiji head coach Fredy Minziro admitted defeat gracefully, acknowledging that his team failed to capitalize on their chances.

“We created three clear opportunities but couldn’t convert them. Meanwhile, our opponents made the most of their single chance and walked away with the points,” Minziro explained.

He further revealed that he fielded several new players during the match and expressed optimism about his team’s future performance.

“We are still integrating new players into the squad. Once we have everyone settled, I believe our team will become much more competitive,” he stated confidently.

The win puts KMC in a promising position, but Ongala’s comments underline the need for continued improvement to maintain their momentum in the league. As for Pamba Jiji, Minziro’s rebuilding efforts show promise, with the team’s potential expected to unfold as the season progresses.
