Fountain Gate FC has given its players a six-day break following a crushing 5-0 defeat to Yanga SC in the NBC Tanzania Premier League.
The match took place at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam, marking a tough moment for the team.
The break provides an opportunity for players to spend time with their families as they prepare to welcome the New Year, 2025.
Chief Executive Officer Thabitha Kidawawa confirmed that the club is using this period to finalize the appointment of a new technical bench.
“Our players have been given six days off, and by the time they return to camp, we will have announced the new technical team,” she said.
Kidawawa attributed the decision to disband the current technical bench, led by Coach Mohamed Muya, to dissatisfaction with the team’s recent performance.
Fountain Gate has struggled in its last ten matches, leading to mounting pressure on the management.
“The team’s performance has been disappointing, and our position is precarious. These challenges necessitated this decision to chart a new path,” she added.
The management hopes that the changes will revitalize the team and improve its standing in the league moving forward.
