KMC made a stunning start, finding the back of the net within the first minute. Deogratius Kulwa capitalized on a defensive lapse by Coastal Union to score a well-taken goal, putting the visitors ahead. The early breakthrough energized KMC, who controlled the tempo in the opening minutes and kept Coastal Union on the back foot.

Despite Coastal Union's efforts to fight back, KMC’s defense remained solid throughout the first half.

The opening 45 minutes ended with KMC holding a slim 1-0 lead. Coastal Union returned in the second half with renewed determination, pushing forward in search of an equalizer.

The hosts increased their attacking intensity, but their efforts were repeatedly thwarted by KMC’s organized backline and goalkeeper Ismail Mpank.

As the clock ticked down, Coastal Union’s persistence finally bore fruit. In the 89th minute, they were awarded a penalty after a foul inside the box. Maulid Juma stepped up under immense pressure and calmly converted the spot kick, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to bring the scores level. The goal was a lifeline for Coastal Union, ensuring they avoided defeat on home turf.

The final minutes of the match were filled with tension as both teams searched for a decisive winner. However, neither side managed to capitalize on their chances, and the referee’s whistle confirmed a 1-1 draw. Each team walked away with a point, a result that underscores the competitive nature of this season’s league.

For KMC, the draw was a missed opportunity to secure maximum points after their early lead. Coastal Union, on the other hand, demonstrated commendable resilience to salvage a point in the dying moments. The result also reflects the ongoing trend of closely contested matches this season, where teams frequently share the spoils.
