Dar es Salaam – The Women in Aviation Forum marked the International Day of the Girl Child by offering an educational session to young girls about the aviation industry and the career opportunities available within the sector. The event, organized by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, took place at Terminal 3 of Julius Nyerere International Airport.
Annamaria Nzamba, Chief Aviation Safety and Travel Information Officer and a member of the Forum, spoke to the girls, encouraging them to pursue science-related studies to prepare for careers in aviation. She highlighted the numerous opportunities available and emphasized the importance of closing the gender gap in the industry, which currently has a low representation of women.
The forum aims to empower young girls by providing education and inspiration, encouraging them to enter the aviation sector, and help increase the number of women professionals, which remains limited compared to men in the field.
