Dar es Salaam – As part of its 8th anniversary celebrations, HaloPesa, through Halotel, marked the occasion by giving back to the community. In recognition of the role the community has played in its success, HaloPesa chose to celebrate with children suffering from hydrocephalus and spina bifida at the ASBAHT (Nyumba Ya Matumaini) center in Kimara, Temboni, Dar es Salaam, on October 11, 2024.

Under the theme “We Love, We Care, We Value You,” HaloPesa provided essential items such as diapers, nutritious milk, sugar, soap, and food supplements aimed at improving children’s well-being. The event also featured a communal lunch with the children, their parents, and the HaloPesa team.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Director of HaloPesa, Mr. Magesa Wandwi, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting special groups within the community. “Being here has not only allowed us to celebrate with the children and their families, but we’ve also gained valuable insight into the challenges they face. These children and their parents, who travel from various regions to seek treatment at MOI hospital, need our support, and HaloPesa is committed to being part of their journey.”

Mr. Wandwi also called on other organizations and institutions to step forward and offer assistance to such vulnerable groups, acknowledging the broader societal responsibility to support these families.

ASBAHT, Chairman Santos Chuwa, expressed his gratitude for HaloPesa’s generosity, noting that the donations had provided essential support to the children and their families. "We are truly grateful to HaloPesa for their kindness. Their contribution has brought hope and joy to the children and their parents."

HaloPesa’s Product and Marketing Officer, Ms. Aidat Lwiza, highlighted the significance of the day, describing the experience as both humbling and inspiring. “Visiting this center has opened our eyes to the reality faced by these families. We’ve learned a lot, shared a meal, and delivered much-needed supplies.”

She reaffirmed HaloPesa’s commitment to the community, stressing the importance of collective responsibility and encouraging other organizations to join in supporting those in need.
