A plane Air pilot has gained viral attention after a video clip surfaced of him humorously congratulating Simba SC on their recent victory, leaving passengers in stitches. The clip, recorded by a fan seated towards the back of the plane, quickly made rounds on social media today.
In the video, the pilot not only thanked Simba SC for flying with Precision Air but also made light-hearted comments about the club's recent win, which came from a penalty. He playfully questioned the legitimacy of the win, noting that while some may doubt the decision, a win is a win – a remark that elicited laughter from the passengers.
The incident in question occurred during Simba SC’s recent match against Dodoma Jiji, where captain Mohamed Hussein 'Tshabalala' was brought down in the box by a Dodoma Jiji defender. This led to a controversial penalty, expertly converted by Ahoua. Despite some fans and pundits accusing Hussein of diving, Tanzanian football officials stood firm, defending the use of VAR to validate the decision.
While congratulating the team on their success, the pilot’s witty comment about the disputed penalty stirred speculation. Some fans on the flight joked that the pilot might be a fan of Simba’s traditional rivals, Yanga SC (known as "mtani wa jadi"), as his remarks carried a playful hint of rivalry.
Simba SC returned safely to Dar es Salaam after the match and are gearing up for their upcoming Premier League fixtures. Fans are particularly excited to see their latest addition, Congolese winger Mpanzu, who joined the team as a free agent and is expected to bolster their attacking options.
The pilot’s lighthearted commentary has since been shared widely, adding to the ongoing debate surrounding the penalty decision. Meanwhile, Simba SC remains focused on their next matches, including Coastal union this Friday at home with supporters eagerly anticipating what lies ahead for the club.
