TCAA gets a new boss

President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Sunday, September 8, appointed Mr. Salim Ramadhani Msangi as the new Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA). Mr. Msangi succeeds Mr. Hamza Johari, who was recently appointed as the Attorney General.

The announcement was made by Chief Secretary Ambassador Dr. Moses Kusiluka in a press statement.

Before his appointment, Mr. Msangi was the acting Director General of TCAA, a position he assumed after the former Director General was assigned to his new role.

Before this new role, he served as the Director of Safety Regulation starting on October 17, 2023.

Mr. Msangi is tasked with revitalizing Tanzania's aviation sector, with a focus on enhancing safety and operational standards within the industry. He brings a wealth of experience in aviation management and regulatory frameworks, having held various senior positions before his appointment.

His extensive background includes roles such as Principal Aviation Security Inspector, certified International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) - Universal Security Audit Programme Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA) Auditor, and certified ICAO Aviation Security Instructor.
