The United Democratic Party (UDP) parliamentary candidate for Chamwino Constituency, Hasma Judi Hamisi, has pledged to advocate for improved healthcare services, reliable medicine supplies at dispensaries and better road infrastructure if elected to represent the constituency in Parliament.
Hasma said she would ensure that the challenges facing residents are presented to the government and addressed, particularly those affecting healthcare services and infrastructure.
She said her priorities would include advocating for the availability of medicines in every dispensary, access to maternal and child healthcare services, improved healthcare for older people and access to health insurance for the elderly.
On road infrastructure, Hasma said some of the roads she had travelled on in Chamwino were in poor condition, making it difficult for residents to move around, particularly during the rainy season.
She pledged to advocate for government intervention to improve the roads and ensure they remain passable throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions.
Hasma said she was ready to serve the people of Chamwino, adding that she would use her position to raise their concerns and push for solutions to the challenges affecting their daily lives.
Meanwhile, UDP National Secretary-General Saumu Rashid urged Hasma to maintain close communication with residents and listen to their concerns before attending parliamentary sessions.
Saumu said elected representatives should consult the people they represent, understand their challenges and present their concerns in Parliament rather than focusing solely on their personal views.
She stressed that listening to residents was essential for effective representation and ensuring that their needs were reflected in parliamentary discussions and government decisions.
Saumu also said UDP would continue to guide and support Hasma to ensure she remained accountable to the people of Chamwino.
She added that, if Hasma entered Parliament, she would have an important responsibility to champion initiatives aimed at improving the economic well-being of Chamwino residents and addressing issues affecting their livelihoods.
