Tanzania is stepping up efforts to attract investment from Europe through an investment promotion visit to Finland aimed at showcasing opportunities available in the country and strengthening new partnerships with investors and the business community.

Speaking in Helsinki, the Deputy Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Dr. Pius Stephen Chaya, invited investors from Finland and other European countries to consider Tanzania as an investment destination, highlighting opportunities across several key sectors of the economy.

Dr. Chaya identified agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, mining and value addition, energy, infrastructure, tourism, information and communication technology (ICT), and the digital economy among areas offering investment opportunities.

He noted that through the National Development Vision 2050, Tanzania aims to build a competitive, inclusive and sustainable economy, with the private sector, investment, innovation and technology playing a significant role in achieving the country’s development ambitions.

During the visit, the Director General of TISEZA, Gilead J. Teri, presented Tanzania’s investment opportunities and priorities, outlining the support available to investors throughout the investment process.

According to TISEZA, investors can receive support from the stage of identifying investment opportunities and accessing the necessary services and permits to the implementation of their projects.

The visit is also part of preparations for the Tanzania-European Union Investment and Business Forum scheduled for 2027, providing an opportunity to further strengthen economic and business relations between Tanzania and European partners.

TISEZA is also using the visit to engage with investors, business leaders and Tanzanians living in Finland and other parts of Europe to discuss investment opportunities, establish partnerships and advance discussions towards the implementation of tangible investment projects in Tanzania.

The initiative underscores Tanzania’s efforts to connect its investment opportunities with European capital, technology and expertise while continuing to strengthen an environment conducive to private-sector investment and long-term economic cooperation.
