Chambani Representative Mahmoud Shineni Ali has urged young people in Ole Constituency to take a more active role in development initiatives and efforts to shape Zanzibar’s future.
Mr Shineni, who represents ACT Wazalendo, made the call on Sunday when he opened the General Meeting of the party’s Youth Wing in Ole Constituency.
The meeting brought together youth leaders and members to discuss ways of strengthening youth participation, party cohesion and their contribution to development in Zanzibar.
“Young people must remain at the forefront of development activities and actively participate in issues aimed at building a better future for Zanzibar,” Mr Shineni told the meeting.
He also urged the youth to maintain unity and solidarity, saying their participation was important in building a generation capable of taking responsibility for the future of the islands.
The meeting was attended by Ole Representative Seif Hamad, along with other ACT Wazalendo leaders and members of the party’s Youth Wing.
The gathering formed part of efforts by the party’s youth wing to strengthen its leadership structures and increase young people’s participation in political and community activities.
It also provided a platform for the youth to discuss issues affecting their participation in development and ways of preparing a new generation of leaders for Zanzibar.
