The indicative world market price of gold has risen to TZS367,759.62 per gram, according to prices released by the Mining Commission for September 28, 2026.
The commission’s latest figures put the world market price of gold at USD4,301.20 per troy ounce, highlighting the continued high value of the precious metal on international markets.
For Tanzania’s mineral trading centres, the indicative mineral market price stands at TZS330,983.66 per gram, while the buying centre price has been set at TZS323,628.46 per gram.
The difference between the world market price and the buying centre rate reflects the various costs and factors considered in mineral trading before gold reaches the international market.
The Mining Commission also released new indicative prices for silver, with the world market price standing at USD65.02 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS5,559.32 per gram.
The indicative mineral market price for silver is TZS5,003.38 per gram, while the buying centre price is TZS4,892.20 per gram.
The latest rates are expected to provide a reference for mineral traders, small-scale miners and buying centres in transactions involving gold and silver.
The Mining Commission publishes indicative mineral prices to guide trading in the sector and improve transparency in the buying and selling of minerals.
