TCAA hailed for driving digital transformation in aviation

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) has been commended for its efforts to modernise the aviation sector and improve service delivery through digital technology.

Minister for Transport Prof Makame Mbarawa made the remarks during the Fourth International Transport and Logistics Conference held at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam on August 20 and 21, 2026.

Prof Mbarawa issued the commendation after visiting the TCAA exhibition booth at the conference, where he was briefed on the Authority’s regulatory and development initiatives in the aviation sector.

He was received by Tanzania Civil Aviation College (CATC) Principal Aristid Kanje, who represented TCAA Director General Dr Jabiri Bakari.

Mr Kanje told the minister that TCAA was increasingly using technology to make aviation services more accessible and efficient for industry stakeholders.

He highlighted the Authority’s electronic service system, which enables aviation stakeholders to access various services more quickly while reducing the need for physical processes.

He also explained the role of TCAA’s customer service desk in receiving, tracking and addressing complaints, feedback and other challenges raised by stakeholders.

The digital initiatives are part of wider efforts to improve efficiency, accountability and responsiveness in the aviation sector, which remains an important component of Tanzania’s transport network and economy.

The conference, organised by the National Institute of Transport (NIT), brought together stakeholders from the public and private sectors to exchange knowledge and experience and discuss opportunities and challenges facing the transport and logistics industry.

The gathering also provided a platform for stakeholders to examine how technology, innovation and research can be used to improve transport services and support economic development.

TCAA’s participation allowed the Authority to showcase its ongoing initiatives while engaging with stakeholders on measures aimed at strengthening Tanzania’s aviation sector and improving services to passengers and other industry players.
