NMB Bank has used the Kizimkazi Festival 2026 to bring financial services, business information and financial education closer to citizens, particularly entrepreneurs and small business owners in Zanzibar.
The bank was among the sponsors of the festival, which concluded on August 14 in South Unguja, using its exhibition pavilion to engage directly with members of the public and explain financial services available to support businesses and individuals.
Through the pavilion, citizens had an opportunity to learn more about banking solutions, financial management and opportunities that can help entrepreneurs access and manage finances as they seek to grow their businesses.
The participation also provided a platform for NMB to better understand the needs of citizens and businesses while taking its services closer to communities outside conventional banking channels.
President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, visited the NMB pavilion during the festival and received a briefing from NMB Head of Government Business, Vicky Bishubo, on the bank’s participation and the services provided to visitors.
The interaction highlighted the importance of bringing financial services closer to citizens, particularly small traders, entrepreneurs and other groups that depend on accessible financial services to support their economic activities.
For many small businesses, access to appropriate financial services and financial knowledge can make a difference in managing cash flow, investing in business expansion and building sustainable enterprises.
NMB’s participation also added an economic dimension to the Kizimkazi Festival, which brought together citizens, businesses, institutions and visitors around opportunities in tourism, culture, trade and investment.
As festivals and other public platforms increasingly become avenues for economic engagement, bringing services directly to communities can help citizens access information and opportunities without having to travel far to seek them.
