Gold prices in Tanzania remained strong on August 4, 2026, with the country's indicative mineral market price reaching TZS 313,109.55 per gram, reflecting sustained gains in international bullion markets.
According to the latest indicative prices released by the Mining Commission, the global gold price stood at USD 4,068.80 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 347,899.50 per gram.
The buying centre price was set at TZS 306,151.56 per gram, providing a key benchmark for traders and small-scale miners across the country.
The figures indicate that Tanzania's gold sector continues to benefit from robust international demand for the precious metal, which remains a preferred safe-haven asset amid global economic uncertainties.
Silver prices also maintained an upward trajectory. The world market price was recorded at USD 58.76 per troy ounce, translating to TZS 5,024.23 per gram.
The domestic mineral market price stood at TZS 4,521.80 per gram, while buying centres offered TZS 4,421.32 per gram.
Meanwhile, copper prices remained relatively stable. The global market price was quoted at USD 6.50 per pound, equivalent to TZS 38.11 per gram.
Tanzania's indicative mineral market price for copper was TZS 34.30 per gram, with buying centres purchasing the metal at TZS 33.54 per gram.
