Fountain Gate FC head into their next league assignment against Namungo FC with renewed confidence after securing a 1-0 victory over Mashujaa FC.
The result has provided a timely morale boost for the newly determined side as it seeks to build momentum and collect more points in the ongoing season.
Fountain Gate Information Officer Issa Mbuzi said the victory reflected the team’s improved preparations following their opening-day defeat to Singida Black Stars.
According to Mbuzi, the players responded positively to the setback, worked hard in training and entered the Mashujaa match with a clear target of securing maximum points.
“Fountain Gate’s engine is now running. We send a message to everyone who said we had not arrived. We want our young players to show what they can do,” Mbuzi said.
He said the victory had strengthened the players’ belief and provided the technical bench with a solid foundation on which to build as the season progresses.
“We had one objective as a team—to win the match. The victory has given us more strength and confidence as we continue working towards our targets for the season,” he said.
Fountain Gate have now collected three points from their opening two matches, recording one victory and one defeat.
Their immediate focus is the encounter against Namungo at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi, where they will be looking to extend their winning momentum and add to their points tally.
For Fountain Gate, the match will be another test of whether the Mashujaa victory can mark the beginning of a sustained push for better results this season.
