The Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) is proud to announce its enhanced participation in the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, Sabasaba.
This year’s exhibition is dedicated to educating the public on the vital importance of wildlife conservation, promoting domestic tourism, and providing better access to wildlife-related services through live animal displays and the sale of legally sourced wildlife products and game meat.
Speaking during a press briefing in Dar es Salaam on July 3, 2026, TAWA’s Chief Conservator, Mr. Steven Madenge, highlighted that visitors to the TAWA stand will have an exceptional opportunity to observe a diverse range of iconic Tanzanian wildlife including giraffes, lions, leopards, hyenas, zebras, elephants, and crocodiles.
These live exhibits are part of a strategic effort to deepen public understanding of wildlife protection and inspire Tanzanians to explore the country’s rich network of protected wildlife areas.
In addition, Mr. Madenge revealed plans for an exciting new initiative, the Pande Marathon, scheduled for August 1, 2026, at the Pande Wildlife Reserve in Dar es Salaam.
The marathon aims not only to promote healthy living but also to strengthen the connection between communities and Tanzania’s thriving tourism and conservation sectors.
TAWA warmly invites all citizens to visit its stand at Sabasaba, where they can experience firsthand Tanzania’s incredible wildlife diversity and receive educational insights on how to contribute to the preservation of these natural treasures.
This engagement forms part of a broader commitment to fostering a culture of environmental stewardship and supporting local tourism, which plays a vital role in Tanzania’s economic and ecological future.
By participating in these activities, Tanzanians can take pride in their unique natural heritage and actively contribute to safeguarding it for generations to come.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with nature and learn more about how each one of us can be a guardian of Tanzania’s magnificent wildlife.
