The state visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Tanzania has strengthened bilateral ties, with both countries committing to expand cooperation in trade, investment and industrial development.
Hosted by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the visit featured high-level talks between the two governments, the signing of cooperation agreements and the Tanzania–Egypt Business Forum, which brought together government officials, investors and business leaders from both nations.
During the forum, President Samia highlighted the long-standing partnership between Tanzania and Egypt, citing the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project as a key example of successful cooperation between the two countries.
She said Tanzania remains committed to attracting more Egyptian investors through the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), leveraging the country’s strategic location, improving business environment and access to regional and African markets.
"Tanzania provides a gateway to Africa with opportunities for investors seeking to expand their businesses across the continent," President Samia said.
Business agreements were exchanged in key sectors including engineering, construction, pharmaceuticals, logistics, fertiliser production, food processing and financial services, signalling increased private-sector collaboration between Tanzania and Egypt.
The visit also reinforced both countries’ shared focus on industrialisation, sustainable investment, employment creation and economic growth.
Officials from both sides said the strengthened partnership would contribute to deeper economic links between East and North Africa while creating new opportunities for businesses and citizens in both countries.
