The Mining Commission has released new indicative mineral prices for July 25, 2026, showing continued strong values for gold, silver and copper in both international and local markets.
According to the latest figures, the world market price for gold stood at USD 4,082.30 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 348,200.69 per gram.
The mineral market price for gold was recorded at TZS 313,380.62 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS 306,416.61 per gram.
For silver, the world market price was set at USD 58.33 per troy ounce, translating to TZS 4,975.27 per gram.
The local mineral market price for silver was TZS 4,477.74 per gram, while buying centres were offering TZS 4,378.24 per gram.
Meanwhile, copper recorded a world market price of USD 6.31 per pound, equivalent to TZS 36.91 per gram.
The Mining Commission listed the mineral market price for copper at TZS 33.22 per gram, with the buying centre price standing at TZS 32.48 per gram.
The publication of indicative prices is part of the government’s efforts to promote transparency in mineral trading, support fair valuation of minerals and guide miners, traders and other stakeholders in the sector.
Tanzania’s mining sector remains a key contributor to economic growth, foreign exchange earnings and employment, with gold continuing to dominate mineral exports.
