The Government is strengthening the capacity of its lawyers through specialised training aimed at improving legal services, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring public institutions receive quality legal support in implementing development programmes.
Attorney General Hamza S. Johari is expected to open the third season of the Bespoke Training Programme for Government Lawyers, scheduled to take place at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) from July 15 to 17, 2026.
The training will bring together government lawyers from ministries, independent government departments, agencies, Regional Secretariats and Local Government Authorities (LGAs) from across Tanzania.
The programme is designed to equip government lawyers with modern legal skills, strengthen their professional competence and prepare them to effectively respond to emerging legal challenges facing the public sector.
Through the training, the Government aims to improve the quality of legal advice and representation provided to public institutions, a move expected to contribute to better implementation of policies, projects and services that directly benefit citizens.
Government lawyers have been encouraged to use the programme as an opportunity to exchange knowledge, adopt best practices and develop innovative approaches that will improve their performance and contribute to reforms in public legal services.
The third season of the Bespoke Training Programme is being conducted under the theme: “Positioning the Government Lawyer as a Strategic Legal Leader in Achieving the Goals of National Vision 2050.”
The initiative is part of broader efforts to build a capable and professional legal workforce that supports good governance, protects public interests and strengthens Tanzania’s development agenda.
