Tanzania highlights investment drive at Africa leadership forum in Nairobi

The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has reinforced the country’s investment agenda at the MNL Africa Leadership Circle Forum 2026, held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 18 to 19 June.

The high-level forum brought together policymakers, private sector leaders, and investment stakeholders from across Africa to explore strategies for boosting investment flows, advancing digital finance, promoting innovation, and deepening regional economic integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

TISEZA was represented by its Board Chairman, Ambassador Dr. Aziz Ponary Mlima, who participated in a high-level panel discussion focused on investment competitiveness across the continent.

He noted that while fiscal incentives remain important, modern investors are increasingly prioritising policy stability, quality infrastructure, efficient institutions, and streamlined investment facilitation systems.

He added that Tanzania continues to implement reforms aimed at strengthening predictability in the business environment and improving conditions for both local and foreign investors.

The forum also recognised the contribution of TISEZA Director General, Mr. Gilead Teri, for his role in advancing investment promotion and economic development initiatives across Africa. The award was received on his behalf by Dr. Mlima.

TISEZA said its participation in the forum reflects Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening regional partnerships, expanding investment opportunities, and supporting Africa’s broader agenda of sustainable economic transformation through trade, investment, and innovation.
