The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) has continued to cement its reputation as one of the country’s best-performing public institutions after being recognised with two major awards that highlight excellence in service delivery, conservation management and institutional quality standards.

The recognition was formally presented on June 11, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, where the Conservation Commissioner of the Tanzania National Parks Authority, CPA Musa Nassoro Kuji, handed over the awards to the TANAPA Board of Trustees during its ongoing meeting.

The Board received the “Quality Achievement Award 2026,” which was conferred on May 31, 2026, in Brussels, Belgium, by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR).

The award recognises institutions that demonstrate strong commitment to quality management, operational excellence and consistent improvement in service delivery.

TANAPA also received a First Runner-Up Certificate in the National Quality Awards 2025/2026, issued by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards in Dar es Salaam on June 5, 2026.

The certification reflects the institution’s strong adherence to national quality standards and its performance in delivering public services in line with expected benchmarks.

The Board of Trustees, chaired by retired General George Waitara, commended TANAPA management, conservation officers and rangers for their discipline and dedication, noting that the awards are a reflection of teamwork and consistent commitment to protecting Tanzania’s national parks.

The Board further noted that the recognition places TANAPA in a stronger position internationally and reinforces Tanzania’s growing profile as a leading destination for conservation-based tourism.

It urged all staff members to maintain high standards, strengthen accountability and continue improving efficiency in order to sustain the institution’s achievements and attract even more global recognition.

The leadership emphasized that continued excellence in conservation and service delivery will not only bring further accolades but also contribute directly to national economic growth through tourism and environmental protection.
