Tanzania’s horticulture industry continues to gain international recognition as the Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) utilized the platform of the 63rd anniversary celebrations of the partnership between Tanzania and Sweden to showcase the sector’s achievements, innovation, and growing contribution to the national economy.

The diplomatic event, which brought together government leaders, diplomats, development partners, private sector representatives, and other stakeholders, provided TAHA with a unique opportunity to exhibit a wide range of horticultural products produced in Tanzania.

The showcase highlighted the sector’s increasing role in driving economic growth, job creation, food security, and international trade.

Established in 2004, TAHA is Tanzania’s leading private sector umbrella organization representing producers, exporters, processors, traders, and service providers within the horticulture value chain.

Over the past two decades, the association has grown into a key institution supporting thousands of stakeholders across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar while advocating for policy reforms, market access, investment promotion, and the adoption of modern agricultural technologies.

Through its various development initiatives, TAHA has played a significant role in improving productivity, enhancing product quality, reducing post-harvest losses, and expanding access to international markets for Tanzanian horticultural products.

The organization has also served as a critical bridge between farmers, investors, financial institutions, development partners, and global buyers.

TAHA’s participation in the Tanzania-Sweden partnership celebrations reflected more than a simple product exhibition. Sweden has remained one of Tanzania’s longstanding development partners, supporting efforts aimed at strengthening agricultural competitiveness, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.

The presence of TAHA at the event underscored the importance of leveraging development cooperation to unlock economic opportunities and promote Tanzania’s agricultural potential on the global stage.

The participation comes at a strategic moment as Tanzania prepares to host Horti Logistica Africa 2026, a major international horticulture and agribusiness exhibition scheduled to take place in Arusha, Tanzania, from 8 to 10 November 2026.

One of the event’s most anticipated attractions will be The Machinery & Technology Zone at Horti Logistica Africa 2026, where Africa’s most forward-thinking agricultural innovations will be brought to life.

The platform will feature cutting-edge AI-powered farming tools, hydroponic systems, precision agriculture technologies, and post-harvest solutions designed to reduce losses and connect farmers to lucrative global markets.

The exhibition will provide farmers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders with a unique opportunity to see, experience, and adopt transformative technologies that can be integrated directly into their farming operations.

By bringing together innovators, manufacturers, policymakers, and agricultural professionals from across Africa and beyond, the event is expected to position Tanzania as a leading hub for agricultural innovation and horticultural development in the region.

Industry stakeholders believe that Horti Logistica Africa 2026 will further strengthen Tanzania’s reputation as a destination for agribusiness investment while accelerating the adoption of modern technologies capable of increasing productivity, enhancing competitiveness, and improving market access for local producers.

As Tanzania continues to deepen its international partnerships, TAHA’s participation in the 63rd anniversary celebrations of the Tanzania-Sweden partnership serves as a powerful reminder that the horticulture sector is not only a key pillar of the country’s economy but also an important instrument of economic diplomacy, fostering investment, trade, innovation, and sustainable
