The Minister of State in the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ridhiwani Kikwete, has expressed satisfaction with the services and public education provided at the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries stand during the ongoing 2026 Public Service Week celebrations at Chinangali Park.
The Minister visited the stand where he received detailed briefings from experts of the Ministry and its affiliated institutions on various services offered to citizens, including livestock and fisheries extension services, investment opportunities in the sector, and government strategies aimed at improving productivity and increasing income for communities engaged in animal husbandry and fishing activities.
Ridhiwani Kikwete commended the quality of service delivery at the stand, noting that the officers demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and strong commitment in explaining government programmes to the public.
He said such exhibitions play an important role in bringing government services closer to citizens and enhancing public awareness on available opportunities.
He further emphasized that Public Service Week should serve as a practical platform for public institutions to engage directly with citizens, listen to their concerns, and provide solutions that improve the overall quality of service delivery.
He said direct interaction between government officials and the public helps strengthen accountability and build trust in public institutions.
The Minister also praised the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries for its continued efforts to educate citizens on modern livestock keeping and sustainable fishing practices.
He noted that the use of improved technologies and modern methods is essential in increasing production, creating employment opportunities, and boosting household incomes, especially for youth and women engaged in the sector.
He added that the government remains committed to strengthening the livestock and fisheries sectors as key pillars of the national economy, particularly in enhancing food security, supporting industrial growth, and expanding the blue economy.
Experts at the Ministry stand continued to provide services to visitors, including technical guidance, advisory support, and clarification on various government programmes.
Citizens were seen actively engaging with officers, seeking information on livestock diseases control, fish farming, and investment opportunities.
