Polisi Tanzania head coach Mbwana Makata has reaffirmed his team’s ambition to finish in the top three of the Championship League this season, a position that would significantly boost their chances of securing promotion to the NBC Premier League.
Polisi Tanzania currently sit third on the table with 63 points, following a narrow but crucial 1–0 victory over Mbeya Kwanza in their most recent league fixture.
Speaking after the match, Makata praised his players for showing resilience in a highly competitive encounter, describing the win as a vital step in the club’s push for promotion.
“I would like to congratulate my players for their fighting spirit. It was a very difficult match because of its importance, as every team is fighting hard to either maintain or improve its position in the race for the playoffs,” said Makata.
He noted that the Championship promotion race has become increasingly tight, with several teams closely placed on 60 points, making every remaining fixture decisive.
Makata added that his squad remains fully focused on maintaining consistency and discipline in their final matches of the season as they chase a top-three finish.
“Our priority is to keep working hard, stay consistent, and make sure we collect maximum points in our remaining games,” he said.
Polisi Tanzania Media Officer Inspector Frank Lukwaro also reiterated the club’s determination to reach the promotion playoffs and ultimately secure a return to the top flight.
“Our goal is very clear. We are fighting for promotion to the Premier League. The team is fully prepared and committed to achieving this objective,” said Lukwaro.
As the season reaches its decisive stage, Polisi Tanzania remain firmly in the promotion hunt, with every remaining match expected to play a crucial role in determining their final position.
