The Director of Hanspaul, Satbir Hanspaul, has commended the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) for continuing to improve customs services and strengthening engagement with taxpayers, saying the reforms are contributing to more efficient service delivery and improved tax administration in the country.
Hanspaul made the remarks during a consultative meeting with TRA Assistant Customs Manager, Edwin Changwe, who was accompanied by officials from the Customs Service Centre at headquarters, Henry Gabriel and Asha Majengo.
The meeting was held to discuss and resolve various tax-related challenges affecting taxpayers and to enhance cooperation between the authority and the business community.
He said he was satisfied with the way TRA has been responding to taxpayer concerns, noting that the authority has shown commitment to addressing challenges in a timely manner and improving service delivery at customs points.
Hanspaul further noted that TRA’s continued efforts to engage taxpayers through direct consultations and field visits have helped to improve understanding, reduce operational challenges, and strengthen compliance among businesses.
He added that constructive engagement between the private sector and tax authorities remains key in supporting national revenue collection and ensuring a more predictable and efficient business environment.
