Dar City Basketball Club will be aiming to extend its winning run when it faces Magone today in the Dar es Salaam Regional Basketball League (BD) at Don Bosco Grounds in Upanga.
The encounter comes as Dar City seeks to build on its strong start to the season and strengthen its position in the race for the league title.
Speaking ahead of the match, Dar City head coach Mohamed Mbwana said the team had completed its preparations and was fully focused on securing another victory.
“Our preparations have gone well, and the players are ready for the challenge. The squad is highly motivated, and everyone understands the importance of delivering a strong performance,” said Mbwana.
He noted that following their opening victory of the campaign, the team has continued to work on improving various aspects of its game to maintain consistency and competitiveness throughout the season.
According to the coach, winning the league remains one of Dar City’s primary objectives this year, as it would earn the club an opportunity to represent Dar es Salaam in national competitions and potentially progress to international tournaments.
“We started the season positively, but there is still a long way to go. We are taking each game seriously and working hard to ensure we remain on the right track,” he said.
Mbwana also highlighted the commitment and determination shown by his players in training, expressing confidence that the team is capable of achieving its ambitions.
He called on Dar City supporters to attend the match in large numbers and provide the backing needed to inspire the players.
“Our fans play a crucial role in our journey. Their support gives the players confidence and motivation, and we hope to see them come out in large numbers to cheer us on,” he said.
A victory against Magone would further boost Dar City’s momentum as the club continues its pursuit of league honours in one of the region’s most competitive basketball competitions.
