Minister for Works, Abdallah Ulega, arrived at the Parliament grounds in Dodoma on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, to present the Ministry of Works’ estimates of revenue and expenditure for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The budget is expected to set out the government’s priorities for the construction sector, which plays a central role in driving national development and improving the delivery of public services.
The 2026/2027 budget focuses on strengthening the country’s infrastructure network, including roads, bridges, airports, and other key public facilities.
These investments are aimed at improving transport connectivity, reducing travel time and costs, and enhancing the movement of goods and people across different regions.
The government has emphasized that continued investment in infrastructure is essential to support economic growth, expand access to markets, and unlock development opportunities in both rural and urban areas.
The budget also highlights the importance of maintaining existing infrastructure to ensure efficiency, safety, and long-term durability, while completing ongoing strategic projects across the country.
Once approved by Parliament, the allocations will guide the implementation of key infrastructure projects intended to strengthen national connectivity and support social and economic development for citizens.
