Residents of Kigamboni are expected to benefit from faster and more accessible electricity services following the launch of the new KITANESCO Mikwambe District Office by the Temeke District Administrative Secretary, Kimeta Mpui.

The office, established by TANESCO, is part of the utility firm’s wider strategy to improve customer service and expand access to electricity services as demand continues to rise in rapidly growing communities.

Speaking during the launch on May 16, 2026, Mpui praised TANESCO for taking services closer to wananchi, saying the move would reduce the inconvenience faced by residents who previously travelled long distances to seek assistance at the KITANESCO Kigamboni Regional Office.

He said the opening of the office demonstrates the government’s and TANESCO’s commitment to improving public service delivery while responding to the increasing energy needs of citizens.

“The establishment of this office reflects important operational reforms aimed at improving efficiency, reducing challenges for wananchi, and ensuring that services are delivered on time,” Mpui said.

He further commended TANESCO management for continuing to invest in customer-focused infrastructure and urged staff members to maintain professionalism and provide quality services to residents.

Acting Customer Service Manager Shamu Lameck said TANESCO remains committed to strengthening electricity services and improving accessibility for customers across Kigamboni.

He noted that the utility company is working to ensure wananchi receive services more efficiently and closer to their communities as electricity demand continues to expand.

“This is an important milestone that shows TANESCO’s determination to improve both electricity access and customer service in Kigamboni. We are committed to serving wananchi with greater efficiency and convenience,” he said.

Meanwhile, TANESCO Kigamboni Regional Manager Engineer Paschal Luhavi said the new office will improve service delivery for residents in Kimbiji, Somangila, Pemba Mnazi, Kisarawe II and nearby areas.

He added that the office will help strengthen customer support while contributing to ongoing development activities in the district through improved access to reliable electricity services.
