The National Lottery of Tanzania has launched a nationwide promotional campaign offering more than TZS 5 billion in jackpots and cash prizes, in a move aimed at boosting participation in regulated gaming activities.

The campaign, branded “Kuwa Mchezoni Ushinde”, introduces an additional incentive structure where every valid lottery ticket purchased automatically qualifies for daily and weekly promotional draws, effectively giving players multiple chances to win from a single entry.

Speaking at the launch in Dar es Salaam, the Lottery’s Director, Kelvin Koka, said the initiative is designed to expand engagement while enhancing value for participants.

Under the promotion, players can continue to participate in regular lottery products, including LOTTO, TAMBA NA NAMBA, SPIN4CASH and TOBOA CHAP CHAP, which already offer daily jackpots, instant wins and cash prizes. However, during the promotional period, each ticket also serves as an automatic entry into additional prize draws.

“This campaign is about increasing opportunities. Beyond the core games, every valid ticket now carries an added chance to win through daily and weekly draws,” Koka said.

The prize pool includes not only cash rewards but also consumer goods and transport assets such as smartphones, televisions, tablets, home entertainment systems, motorcycles and Bajaj three-wheelers.

Participation has been structured to remain widely accessible, with ticket purchases available through USSD code 14988#, the official lottery website, authorised retail outlets and mobile financial platforms including Mix by Yas, Selcom Pesa and Airtel Money applications.

The campaign also places emphasis on responsible gaming, with organisers encouraging participants to engage within their means while taking advantage of the expanded opportunities offered during the promotional period.

The National Lottery of Tanzania, as the country’s official lottery operator, continues to position itself as a regulated platform that combines entertainment with potential financial rewards, while supporting the development of the gaming sector.

With the introduction of the “Kuwa Mchezoni Ushinde” campaign, the lottery is expected to attract increased nationwide participation, driven by the prospect of enhanced winning opportunities tied to every ticket purchased.
