Simba SC strengthened their chase for the NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League title after securing a commanding 3-0 win over Mashujaa FC in a match played on May 14, 2026, at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma.

The victory saw Simba maintain second place in the league standings with 51 points, just three behind table leaders Young Africans SC, who sit on 54 points as the title race continues to intensify.

Simba made their intentions clear from the opening minutes and took an early lead in the fifth minute through Clatous Chama, whose fine form in recent matches continued to shine.

The visitors controlled much of the first half with quick attacking movements and solid possession, forcing Mashujaa to spend long periods defending inside their own half. Despite several efforts from both sides, the first half ended with Simba leading 1-0.

After the break, the match became more competitive as Mashujaa attempted to fight back in front of their home supporters, but Simba remained composed and dangerous on the counterattack.

Simba doubled their advantage in the 70th minute when Chama completed his brace with a well-taken finish, further frustrating the hosts and exciting Simba fans who had travelled to Kigoma for the encounter.

The Msimbazi giants sealed the emphatic victory deep into stoppage time after Selemani Mwalimu added the third goal in the 90+1 minute, ensuring Simba walked away with maximum points and renewed confidence in the league title race.

The result increases pressure on rivals Yanga as the competition for the championship enters a crucial stage of the season.
