Puma Energy Tanzania has announced the launch of a new digital rewards platform known as the PRIS App, aimed at rewarding customers for purchasing fuel, lubricants, and other products at its service stations across the country.
The announcement was made in Dar es Salaam on May 13, 2026, during a media briefing and training session on the use of the new system.
The company’s Managing Director, Fatma Abdallah, said the initiative is part of efforts to align operations with Tanzania’s growing digital economy and improve customer experience through technology.
She said the PRIS App will allow customers to earn rewards every time they make purchases at Puma Energy service stations, creating a system that returns value to loyal customers through incentives linked to their transactions.
Fatma Abdallah noted that the initiative supports Tanzania’s Digital Economy Strategic Framework (2024–2034), which focuses on strengthening digital infrastructure, expanding financial inclusion, and positioning the country as a regional digital hub. She said digital transformation remains central to improving service delivery in the energy sector.
According to the company, Puma Energy Tanzania operates a wide global network of more than 2,200 retail stations and supplies fuel to over 100 airports worldwide.
The company also continues to expand its investments with the aim of supporting economic growth in various markets.
In Tanzania, the company said it has contributed more than 1.4 trillion shillings to the government in taxes and related payments over the past three years.
In 2025, it also declared a dividend of 21 billion shillings, reflecting government ownership of 50 percent through the Treasury Registrar.
The company further stated that the PRIS App has already been successfully launched in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Botswana, making Tanzania the fourth African country to adopt the system.
Fatma Abdallah added that the digital platform is part of broader efforts to modernize operations and improve customer engagement across its retail network.
On aviation services, Puma Energy Tanzania confirmed that it supplies aviation fuel at eight airports across the country, including three international airports.
The company assured stakeholders that it has adequate fuel reserves and continues to work closely with government authorities responsible for fuel importation and distribution.
She said the company maintains strong coordination with relevant institutions to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply for the aviation sector, urging stakeholders to remain confident in service reliability.
The PRIS App rollout is expected to enhance customer engagement by making transactions more transparent and digitally driven, as part of the company’s ongoing digital transformation strategy across its operations in Tanzania.
