Police in Dar es Salaam have launched investigations into the death of a woman whose body was found in water near Salender Bridge in Ilala District on Sunday morning.
In a statement, the Dar es Salaam Special Police Zone said the body was discovered on May 11, 2026, at around 4:30am and had no visible injuries.
Preliminary investigations identified the deceased as Aisha Miraji, a resident of Nzasa in Temeke District.
According to police, Aisha went missing on May 10 while undergoing treatment at Muhimbili National Hospital alongside her parents.
The statement said the deceased had been facing recurring health complications over the past five years, as explained by her parents during initial inquiries.
Her body was later recovered near Salender Bridge, prompting police to open an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Authorities said investigations are continuing.
